What we operate on

Academic Integrity

Every initiative is held to honest, verifiable standards of scholarship.

Transparency & Accountability

Clear processes, clear criteria, and open communication with our community.

Editorial Independence

Review and publishing decisions are insulated from outside influence.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Sustainable science and engineering & technology in conversation with each other.

Responsible Use of Technology and AI

Innovation pursued with clear-eyed attention to risk and ethics.

Environmental & Scientific Responsibility

We prioritize projects and partnerships that advance environmental health alongside scientific progress.

AASRT is an emerging organization. We're building our governance structures, editorial board, and programming in the open — as a founding member, you have a direct hand in shaping all of it. See Membership for how to get involved.
Future roadmap

Beyond publishing: where AASRT is headed

AASRT's long-term goal isn't just a journal — it's a fuller ecosystem connecting research, collaboration, and professional growth. These are planned directions, not live features yet.

Research Network

A way for members to find collaborators with aligned research interests and join thematic, interdisciplinary groups.

Scientific Communities

Topic-based hubs — for example AI & Environment, Climate Technologies, Sustainable Systems — for ongoing discussion beyond single events.

Innovation Hub

A future-facing track connecting research to real-world application: research translation, industry collaboration, and patent awareness.

Research Academy

Structured programs in research methodology, scientific writing, and data science — skill-building alongside publishing, not instead of it.

Opportunities Board

A running list of research positions, grants, fellowships, and collaboration calls relevant to our members' fields.

Awards & Recognition

Merit-based recognition — including early-career and emerging-researcher awards — under transparent, published criteria.

These initiatives require real infrastructure — member accounts, a database, and ongoing moderation — beyond what this website currently runs on. They're listed here as a roadmap, not a promise of a launch date.
